SHS REOPENS TODAY FOR SECOND SEMESTER EXAMS
The Ghana Education Service has indicated that today, 5th January 2022 marks the reopening of school for all students in Form 1 and 2 to write their end of semester exams. This will mark the end of the second semester for the students. They are to stay in school for a period of three weeks up to the 28th of January, 2022 when the exams will have been completed thus ending the academic year 2021.
TEWU WITHDRAWS SERVICES
Members of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) of the Ghana Education Service has indicated that they will withdraw their services effective today, due to the non payment of their continuous professional development allowance by the government since 2020.
GOVERNMENT TO BUILD 10,000 HOMES FOR TEACHERS
The president of Ghana has announced yesterday that the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Works and Housing are preparing an affordanle loan scheme to enable teachers acquire housing at any part of the country they choose. He indicated that in the next two years, the government will put up[ 10,000 structures for teachers for a star.
AYISI BOATENG TO CONTEST FOR NPP PARTY CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION
Dr. George Ayisi Boateng has declared his intentions to contest for the NPP national party chairman position. He confirmed this decision on Monday in an interview. Dr. Ayisi Boateng is the former high commisioner to South Africa.
BIRD FLU DETECTED IN GHANA (TEMA)
The avian influenza H5 has been confirmed at the Tema Metropolis. Veterinary doctors are thus advising poultry farmers to decrease overpopulation and reduce the spread of the disease among fowls.
OTHER RELATED MATTERS OF CONCERN ON THE LAPTOP WILL BE ADDRESSED- AKUFO-ADDO TO TEACHERS
The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated to teachers that their concerns on the 1 teacher one laptop will be addressed as a matter of urgency. He indicated his joy on hearing how the iniative was welcomed and assured teachers that all other issues will be resolved.
BAWUMIA IS MANAGING THE ECONOMY POORLY- ASANTE OTCHERE
According to a political analyst, Jonathan Asante Otchere, the vice presindent's management of the economy is very abysmal and he has no grasp on the realities of the Ghanaian economy. He relayed some indicators that showed that the vice president is at sea as to how the economy should be managed. This he attributed to the fact that the vice president is not well informed about the economy. He said this on Accra FM on Monday.
